😄Comments Overview

Comments will flow into your dashboard once you connect your IG accounts. We don't retroactively retrieve comments. If this is something you would be interested in, please contact us using the form here and let us know: Contact Form.

To view all your comments, visit the dashboard at https://www.socialguard.co/dashboard

All comments since your signup will be displayed here. Here's an overview of each section:

Filters

  • Filter by text: Search your comments and commenters based on any text of emoji.

  • Filter by IG Account: By default, comments from all your connected IG accounts will be displayed. You can filter down to a specific account using this filter.

  • Filter by Post: By default, comments from all your IG Posts will be displayed. You can filter down to a specific post using this filter.

  • Filter by Action Taken: By default, all your comments will be displayed; including hidden and deleted comments. You can filter down by action using this filter.

  • Filter by date: By default, the last 7 days of comments will be displayed. You can pick any time span using the calendar input filter.

Comments

By default, 25 comments are shown with a pagination option. You can change this via the dropdown in the bottom left.

Each comment has the following details displayed in the table:

  • Checkbox: Allows you to select multiple comments at once to export them, more details on this below;

  • Post: The media that the comment was made on;

  • Date: The date the comment was made;

  • Commenter: The username of the person who made the comment;

  • Message: The comment's message content;

  • Bot Score: The bot score that our system has applied to the comment. We calculate the bot score using our Sentiment Analysis, powered by OpenAI's GPT-4; we classify comments into the following categories:

    • Bot Score < 25: Not Bot

    • Bot Score 25-50: Suspicious

    • Bot Score 50-75: Likely Bot

    • Bot Score 75-100: Flagged Bot

  • Action Taken: Any actions taken via SocialGuard, can be one of the following:

    • No Action Taken

    • Responded

    • Hidden

    • Deleted

  • Manage: Clicking manage opens up the comment drawer which will allow you to:

    • View the comment in it's thread, along with other comments made

    • Reply to the comment

    • Hide/Show the comment

    • Delete the comment

    • Block the commenter

      • If you choose the block the commenter, any future comments this commenter makes will be immediately deleted

      • Note: Instagram's API currently doesn't allow us to block the user on IG as well, we will implement this feature in the future once it becomes available to us in the API.

Manage a Comment

To perform custom actions on a comment, click the Manage Comment button on the target comment row:

Upon clicking this, a side panel will open containing the comment:

The following information is displayed on the panel:

  • Commenter: IG username of the commenter;

  • Time: Date and time the comment was made;

  • Bot Score: Bot classification, can be one of the following:

    • Bot Score < 25: Not Bot

    • Bot Score 25-50: Suspicious

    • Bot Score 50-75: Likely Bot

    • Bot Score 75-100: Flagged Bot

  • Action Taken: Any actions taken via SocialGuard, can be one of the following:

    • No Action Taken

    • Responded

    • Hidden

    • Deleted

  • Comment thread: Here the comment will be shown, if replies to the comment are available they will all be shown as well;

    • Hint: You can click on any other comments in the thread to load them into the side panel

The following actions are available:

Note: if the comment is deleted, the only action available will be to block/unblock the commenter

  • Reply to the comment: You can reply to the comment with a message up to 2200 characters, simply add your message then press the Send button

  • Hide Comment: If the comment is not yet hidden, you can hide it from displaying in the comments section

  • Show Comment: If the comment is already hidden, you can show it again

  • Delete Comment: This will permanently delete the comment from Instagram

  • Block User: If you block the commenter, all future comments the IG account makes on your posts will be immediately deleted

Bulk Delete Comments

You can multiple delete comments at a time by selecting the comments using the checkbox on the left of each row, then select the "Delete Comments" button.

Export Comments

You can export single, or multiple comments to a CSV format using the export feature. Some use cases for the export are:

  • Running raffles on a post

  • Sharing customer complaints with your team

  • Showcasing comments on your website

First, select all the comments you would like to export using the checkbox on the left, you can optionally select all comments using the checkbox in the table header:

Once you've selected the comments, click the Export as CSV button in the filter bar, the file will be prepared and downloaded
